CAIIB Passing Criteria

  1. Minimum Marks Requirement:

    • To pass each subject of the CAIIB Exam, candidates must attain a minimum score of 50 out of 100 marks.
    • This minimum marks requirement ensures that candidates demonstrate a satisfactory level of understanding and proficiency in each subject area.
  2. Aggregate Score:

    • Alternatively, candidates who secure at least 45 marks in each subject and achieve an overall aggregate score of 50% across all subjects in a single attempt will also qualify for the exam.
    • This allows candidates to compensate for any lower scores in individual subjects by performing well overall across all subjects.
  3. Consistency in Passing Criteria:

    • The passing criteria for the CAIIB Exam remains consistent from year to year, providing candidates with a clear understanding of the expectations and requirements for success.

Maximum Attempts and Timeframe:

  • Candidates have a maximum of four attempts within two consecutive years to meet the CAIIB Passing Criteria for all subjects and pass the exam.
  • If unsuccessful within this timeframe, candidates must re-enroll and start the process anew.

Specific Requirements for Qualification:

  • Candidates can qualify by meeting either of two conditions:
    1. Subject-wise CAIIB Passing Criteria: Achieving a minimum score of 50% (50 marks out of 100) in each of the three subjects over the course of their four attempts.
    2. Aggregate CAIIB Passing Criteria: Achieving an overall score of at least 50% in a single attempt, along with a minimum of 45 marks in each of the three subjects.

CAIIB Marking Scheme:

  • The CAIIB Exam is conducted entirely online and comprises multiple-choice questions, with each paper containing a total of 100 questions.
  • Candidates receive 1 mark for every correct answer, with no penalty for wrong answers.
  • Securing 50 correct answers enables candidates to surpass the CAIIB Passing Criteria for that particular subject.

Passing Class Designation:

  • IIBF determines CAIIB Exam results based on candidates’ marks.
  • To earn a class designation, candidates must pass on their initial test:
    • First Class: Achieving 60% or higher overall and passing all subjects in the first attempt.
    • First Class with Distinction: Scoring 70% or higher overall and at least 60% in every subject during the first attempt.
