The IRS Exam 2024 date has been announced and as per the official notification, its first stage will be conducted across the country on 16 June 2024.

IRS Exam 2024 Highlights

The UPSC 2024 exam date calendar announced that the IRS exam will be held in three phases: Prelims, Mains, and the Interview. This exam, along with other services’ exams, is collectively known as the UPSC Civil Services exam. Selected candidates will be trained for various responsibilities related to tax administration and enforcement.

In the official UPSC notification, the dates for the UPSC IRS exam have been communicated to all candidates. Further, the commission has also notified aspirants about the IRS Exam Date 2025, which is May 25, 2025, for Prelims and August 22, 2025, for Mains. IRS Exam Application Process

The IRS Exam Apply Online 2024 was available from February 14 to March 5, 2024. Those who wish to apply for the next exam cycle will need to follow a similar procedure on the official website to fill out the application form. Here is step by step process to apply online for Indian Revenue Service exam:

Step 1: Visit the official website of UPSC at upsc.gov.in in your web browser.

Step 2: Once on the UPSC website, locate and click on the “Examination” tab in the main menu.

Step 3: From the dropdown menu under the “Examination” tab, select “Active Examinations.”

Step 4: Locate the link ‘UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination’ in the list of active examinations and click on it.

Step 5: Click on the ‘apply’ link to proceed with the IRS application process.

Step 6: Complete the application form by providing all the required information accurately.

Step 7: Upload your most recent photograph and signature in the specified size and file format.

Step 8: Pay the application fee as mentioned in the notification.

Step 9: Review the form to ensure all details are correct, and then proceed to submit it.

Step 10: Save a copy of the IRS application form for future reference.

IRS Application Fee 2024

Candidates can pay the application fee for the IRS registration form by either online or offline mode. For the online pay mode, they have the option to use a debit/credit/Rupay card or SBI Net Banking. To pay fees offline, candidates will have to visit any SBI branch to make a cash payment and submit the pay slip.

The total vacancy for UPSC CSE is 1056, out of which around 100 IRS officers will be selected based on the availability of positions and the ranks of the candidates.
