CDS examination is conducted twice a year to choose candidates for the Indian Air Force, Indian Naval Academy, Indian Military Academy, and Officers Training Academy. The Application Process for CDS 1 2024 was active from Dec 20, 2023 and Jan 09, 2024, and Eligible Candidates applied online through the official website. The CDS Application Form was available only in the online mode. Aspiring Candidates could fill the CDS 1 2024 Application Form from 20 Dec, 2023 to 09 Jan 2024. How to Fill UPSC CDS Application Form?
There are four phases in the CDS Application Form filling, check out the section below to know about the same.
Phase 1: Registration
- Visit the official website of UPSC, upsc.gov.in
- Click on the UPSC CDS application form link and proceed to registration section
- Enter name, date of birth, gender, parent’s name, nationality, community, caste, category, educational qualification etc
- Next, choose the NCC category along with the preference for theIMA, NA, AFA and OTA
- Cross check the details and then move to the next phase
Phase 2: Application Fee Payment
- Pay the CDS application fee as admissible to the candidate’s category
- Check payment status and move to the next phase
Phase 3: Upload Photo, Signature & Photo Identity Card
- Upload the required documents, photo, signature etc in the prescribed format and size limit
- Submit the CDS application form on the dashboard and take its printout.
Phase 4: Center Selection
- Login to the dashboard using the registration number and password
- Choose the exam center from the list of cities available and then submit the details
- Also, click on the agree to all declaration and complete the application form filling

Documents Required for filling UPSC CDS Application Form
A lot of details are required while filling the CDS 2024 Application Form. Due to which candidates have to keep the following documents handy while doing so.
- Class 10th, 12th roll number
- Academic certificates of Bachelor’s and Master’s degree
- Adhaar Card
- Caste Certificate
- Scanned copy of signature, photograph and id proof within the limit of 20 KB to 300 KB
CDS Application Form Fee
As per the notification, the candidates have to pay the CDS Application Form fee as admissible for their category. One has to pay this fee using any of the online payment mode i.e. Debit card, Credit card or UPI.

ToggleHow to Withdraw CDS Application Form 2024?
Candidates who do not wish to write the UPSC CDS Exam can choose to withdraw their application form. For CDS 1 2024, the Application Correction window was active from January 10 2023 to January 16, 2024. Changes in CDS Application Form has to be done within the prescribed timing as notified by the commission.
The candidates are allowed to withdraw their CDS Application Form but will not get the refund of their application fee. The correct steps to withdraw the CDS exam Application Form 2024 can be checked in the section below:
- Visit the official website of UPSC
- Click on the CDS application form withdrawal link and proceed
- Login with your registration number and password along with the captcha code
- Enter the OTP sent on the email id and mobile number after opting for the application form withdrawal
- Validate the OTP and then wait for the approval. Once the same is done, print the withdrawal receipt.
CDS Eligibility Criteria
Candidates filling CDS 1 2024 Application Form must be familiar with CDS Eligibility. The Eligibility Criteria is one of the important factors that have to be followed before filling the CDS Application Form.

- The candidate should be a permanent citizen of India
- One should have the relevant certificates to prove their CDS Eligibility for the Examination.

Union Public Service Commission has prescribed the concerned age limit and marital status for the defence academies which will be participating in the UPSC CDS Recruitment Process.

CDS Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification
