AFCAT Age Limit 2024

The AFCAT Age Limit varies for the Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches. Candidates must adhere to the specified age criteria:

  • Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years as of 01 January 2025. Candidates with a valid Commercial Pilot License can have an upper age limit of up to 26 years.
  • Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch: 20 to 26 years as of 01 January 2025.

AFCAT Eligibility for Female

For female candidates applying to Ground Duty and Flying Branches, the eligibility criteria remain consistent with minor variations in physical requirements. The minimum acceptable for female candidates is 162.5 cm for the Flying Branch and 152 cm for other branches.

Candidates must also meet specific educational qualifications based on the branch they are applying for:

AFCAT Eligibility for Flying Branch

Candidates applying for the Flying Branch must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Passed with at least 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level
  • Graduation with at least three years of degree course in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent, or BE/B Tech degree with at least 60% marks, or equivalent
  • Passed Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with at least 60% marks or equivalent.

AFCAT Eligibility for Ground Duty (Technical) Branch

For candidates applying to the Ground Duty (Technical) Branch, specific qualifications are required based on the specialization:

  • Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics): Minimum 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and at least four years of degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/Technology from a recognized University.
  • Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical): Minimum 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of four years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/Technology from a recognized University.
