Short Description:-Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) has advertised a notification of conducting HP State Eligibility Test (HP SET 2023) to recruit Assistant Professor Vacancy. How To Fill HP SET 2023 Application Form:-

The applications for HP SET 2023 must be submitted online from the HPPSC website. The steps to apply online are as follows:

• Step 1: Visit the HPPSC Application Portal.
• Step 2: Click on ‘New Registration’.
• Step 3: Enter the required details and register yourself.
• Step 4: Login and fill out the HP SET Application Form.
• Step 5: Upload your scanned copies of the signature and photograph as per the required specifications.
• Step 6: Pay the application fee as per the category.
• Step 7: The candidates can take a print of the submitted online application form for future reference.

HP SET Application Fee:-

As a part of the HP SET application process, the applicants will have to pay the application fee as per the category they belong to.

HP SET Eligibility Criteria:-

Candidates applying for the HP SET Exam must ensure they fulfil the required eligibility criteria in order to avoid disqualification of their applications.

HP SET Educational Qualification:-

The candidates must have the following qualifications for the HP SET Exam:

• General / Unreserved / General-EWS candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree in Humanities (including languages) and Social Sciences, Computer Science & Applications are eligible for this Test.
• The Scheduled Caste (SC) of H.P. /Scheduled Tribe (ST) of H.P. /Other Backward Classes (Non- creamy layer of H.P./ and Persons with Disability (PWD) of H.P. category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree are eligible for this test.
• Candidates who are pursuing their Master’s degree or equivalent course or candidates who have appeared for their qualifying Master’s Degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for the post of Assistant Professor in the Universities/Colleges situated in the State, only after they have passed their Master’s Degree examination or equivalent with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC/ST/OBC (Non- creamy layer / and PWD (Persons with disability) category candidates of H.P.) Such candidates must complete their P.G. Degree examination within two years from the date of SET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified.

 Exemption:

1. NET/SET: It is a minimum eligibility criteria for recruitments and to get appointed as an Assistant Professor in Universities/Colleges/Institutions. However, candidates with a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum standards and Procedure for Award for Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 shall be exempted from this regulation.
2. For SET Candidates: Only candidates who have appeared for the State Eligibility Test after 1st June 2002, are eligible to apply for the post of Assistant Professor in the Universities/Colleges situated in the respective state of their SET examination. No candidates who have given the test before are not eligible.

HP SET Selection Process:

The HP SET is a qualifying examination. The candidates who qualify the exam can apply for Assistant Professor vacancies announced by various universities and colleges in Himachal Pradesh. The selection for these posts will be based on the criteria decided by the respective university/institute. This may include on or more of the following stages:

• Written Test
• Interview
• Evaluation of qualifications and experience
• Teaching Demo

HP SET Exam Pattern:

The detailed HP SET Exam Pattern including the marking scheme, sectional weightage, etc., has been indicated below for your reference.

• The HP SET exam will consist of two objective-type question papers.
• Both the papers will be conducted in a single day.
• There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
• Correct Response- 02 marks
• The HP SET exam will be held online.
