BPSC has announced the official notification of the BPSC for the 69th Combined (Preliminary) Examination 2023, on the website bpsc.bih.nic.in. on June 27, 2023, for 346 vacancies for the 69th Combined (Preliminary) Examination 2023. BPSC Civil Services Exam Pattern 2023

BPSC Preliminary Examination

  • The preliminary exam is a single-paper exam consisting of multiple-choice questions on General Knowledge in various fields like history, geography, economy, and polity.
  • The exam is for 150 marks and the duration of the exam is 2 hours.

BPSC Mains Examination

  • The Mains exam consists of four papers. Paper 2, Paper 3, and Paper 4 contain questions on general studies and the optional subject selected. Paper 1 is based on Hindi.
  • Paper 1 is for 100 marks while the remaining papers are for 300 marks each.
  • All the papers are subjective in nature and the duration of the exam is 3 hours for each paper.
  • Candidates are required to secure a minimum of 30% to qualify for the next round. The marks secured in this paper are not taken into consideration while preparing the merit list.
  • For Paper 4 of the exam, candidates can select an optional subject as per their area of expertise or knowledge.

Interview

  • Candidates clearing the Mains exam are eligible for the interview.
  • The maximum score that can be obtained in the interview is 120 marks.

BPSC Lecturer Eligibility Criteria 2023

The eligibility criteria prescribed for the post of BPSC Lecturer 2023 are expected to be as follows:

  • The lower age limit of the candidate must not be less than 27 years and the upper age limit must not be more than 45 years.
  • For candidates belonging to reserved categories, relaxation in the upper age limit is provided. Candidates belonging to the Female (General), BC, and MBC categories are provided an age relaxation of 3 years. For candidates belonging to the SC/ST category, age relaxation of 5 years is provided.
  • The minimum educational qualification required to apply for the post of lecturer is a Master’s degree or equivalent in the relevant subjects from a recognized university or institute.
