IRMS new notification was released on December 02, 2022. As per the new pattern, the aspirant has to appear for the UPSC CSE 2023 Prelims exam and the syllabus is mentioned by the UPSC. For the IRMS Mains exam, the syllabus of the Paper 1 and Paper 2 qualifying papers and optional papers would be same as UPSC CSE Mains exam. A subject-wise IRMS Syllabus 2023 is laid down for separate engineering disciplines-

It is expected that candidates will have to indicate their opted discipline in the application form. The question paper is expected to be based on the engineering discipline opted by the candidate. IRMS Syllabus for General Studies & Engineering Aptitude

General Studies and Engineering Aptitude Syllabus will test candidates’ knowledge of relevant topics as may be expected from an engineering graduate, without special study. The paper will have questions from all the 10 topics mentioned below. Each topic will have a weightage of 5% to 15% of the total marks (tentatively) in the IRMS paper.
