- Physical Standard Test/Physical Endurance Test
Candidates need to meet the prescribed minimum physical standards as directed by the official notice. Those candidates who possess the required qualifications will have to undergo a Physical Endurance Test, which is qualifying in nature. These eligibility criteria are different for male and female candidates.
- Written Examination
The written exam is conducted to test the general knowledge and IQ level of the candidates. The examination will be objective in nature, and will be for a total of 85 marks. The exam duration is 1 hour and candidates are free to answer in either Bengali, English, Hindi or Kokborok, as per their choice.
- Personal Interview
Candidates who qualify the written examination will be called for a personal interview with the selected committee. The marking for the interview will be done out of 15.
The final selection will be done on the basis of the merit list prepared using aggregate scores from the written test and personal interview.

Age Limit
The age of candidates must be between the following parameters as on 01.01.2022
- Minimum age limit: 18 years
- Maximum age limit: 24 years
The maximum age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for candidates belonging to the SC and ST categories.
In case of recruitment from SPOs, the candidate must be between 18 – 30 years as on 01.01.2022. Additionally, the candidate must have done active service as an SPO for a minimum of 3 years.
Educational Qualification
For Unreserved Candidates, the candidate must have Madhyamik or Equivalent from a recognized university.
For SC/ST candidates, the educational qualification is 8th Pass.
In case of recruitment from SPOs, the candidate must be 8th Pass for all categories.
