PSSSB Jobs 2024 – Educational Qualifications
- For Sr. Assistant/ Inspector: Graduation with 50% marks from a government-recognized University or Institution.
- Qualify for Punjabi and English typewriting tests (a typewriter or a computer) at a speed of 30 words per minute: and
- Possess at least one hundred and twenty hours of course with hands-on experience in the use of a personal computer or Information Technology in office productivity applications or desktop publishing application from Govt recognized institution or a reputed institution, that is ISO 9001 Certified. or
- Possess a computer information Technology Course equivalent to the ‘O’ Level certificate of the Department of Electronics, accreditation of computer courses (DOEACC) of the Government of India.
PSSSB Job Openings 2024 – Age Limit
The age criteria for fresh applicants for the aforementioned positions are as stipulated by the Government of Punjab, effective as of 1st January 2024, as follows:
- General category candidates should be between 18 and 37 years old.
- Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes of Punjab State have a maximum age limit of 42 years.
- The maximum age limit extends to 45 years for State and Central Government employees, with relaxation in the upper age limit.
- Ex-servicemen residing in Punjab follow the age limit specified in the Punjab Recruitment of Ex-servicemen Rules, 1982, amended as necessary. This entails deducting the duration of military service from the candidate’s age, and if the remaining age is within 3 years of the upper age limit prescribed for the post, the candidate is deemed to meet the age criteria.
- Handicapped residents of Punjab are eligible for a relaxation of up to 10 years, setting the maximum age limit at 47 years.
- Widows, divorcees, and certain other categories of married women, as per the directives of the Government of Punjab outlined in Letter No. 1/50/83-5PP(1368)/3454 dated 23rd April 1984, are granted an upper age limit relaxation up to 40 years.
