Step 2: Click on “Apply Online”

Step 3: Click the “New User” link, if you are registering for a Post for the 1st Time. All the registered candidates have to sign in with a username and password.

Step 4: After clicking on a new user an Instruction Page will appear on your computer screen.

Step 5: Scroll down and read the complete instructions carefully and click on the “Proceed to Registration” button.

OSSC Junior Clerk Selection Process

There will be three stages in the selection process which are the Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam, Computer Skill Test & Typing Test.

OSSC Junior Clerk Eligibility Criteria 2023

The candidate must ensure that he/she fulfills the OSSC Junior Clerk Exam Eligibility Criteria set by the commission. Any candidate who does not meet any of the eligibility criteria, his/her application will be rejected by the OSSC, and application fees will neither be refunded nor adjusted.

Age Limit

The candidate should not be less than 21 years and not more than 38 years of age to qualify for the OSSC Junior Clerk Recruitment 2023.

Age Relaxations

There will be age relaxation for candidates as per Government Rules prescribed for the purpose. Age relaxation of 5 years for SEBC, S.C., S.T, and all the Women candidates. By 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (PWD).

No relaxation applies to SEBC, S.C./S.T. candidates of other States. They will be treated as general candidates.

Educational Qualifications

The basic Education qualifications required for this recruitment are:

  • The candidate must have Passed +2 Arts/ Science/Commerce conducted by CHSE or equivalent examination with Basic Computer Knowledge.
  • The candidate must have passed Middle School Examination with Odia as a Language subject, or have passed High School Certificate Examination or equivalent, or have passed in Odia as a language subject in the final examination of Class VII or have passed a test in Odia in M.E. School Standard conducted by the school & Mass Education Department.

Nationality

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.

Other Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate must be able to read, write, and speak Odia.
  • Be of good moral character and conduct.
  • Be of good mental condition and bodily health and free from any physical defects that are likely to interfere in the discharge of duty.

Stage I – Written Examination (Objective Type)

The written examination will comprise of Prelims & Mains exam.

Preliminary Exam Syllabus

  • Arithmatic-10″ Standard Level
  • Data Interpretation (Chart,Graph,Table, Data Sufficiency etc.)

Mains Exam Syllabus

Language Paper (Odia & English)

  • Usage and Vocabulary (Odia as well as English)-plus two Standard.
  • Translation from English to Odia and vice- versa. Plus Two Standard.

Stage II – Skill Test

Type Writing Test : Transcription in English of a passage of around 370 words in 10 minutes & Transcription in Odia of a passage of around 400 words in 25 minutes.

Basic Computer Skill Test : The computer skill test will be done on the following Basic Knowledge in Computer Application:

  • Computer Fundamentals
  • MS Window
  • MS Office
    • Word Processing (MS Words)
    • Spreadsheet (MS Excel)
  • Usage of Internet Services available on the Internet.

  • Also note that the there will be a penalty (Negative marking) for wrong answers marked by the candidate in examinations consisting of Multiple Choice Questions.
  • The penalty/ negative marking will be 1/4 of the total mark for each wrong answer if four options are there & 1/3 of the total marks if three options are there and so forth.
  • Merit List will be prepared on the basis of Main Written Examination (100 marks), Computer Skill Test (50 marks) & Typing Test (50 marks) only.
  • Prelims Exam is qualifying in nature.
