RRB NTPC Typing Proficiency

The Typing Proficiency Test is mandatory only for specific RRB posts where typing skills are essential. Candidates applying for positions such as Junior Clerk Cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Trains Clerk, Accounts Clerk Cum Typist, Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk Cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist, and Station Master must demonstrate typing proficiency.

In the RRB NTPC CBT 1 exam, there won’t be a writing/typing capability test. However, candidates shortlisted for the second round will undergo a Typing Skill Test. The eligibility criteria for typing proficiency in RRB NTPC are as follows:

  • Guidelines for the typing skill test will be provided by the board. The test will be conducted in Hindi, and both Kruti Dev and Mangal fonts will be available for typing on a Personal Computer.
  • Candidates with certain permanent disabilities such as visual impairments (Blindness/Low Vision), Cerebral Palsy, and Locomotor Disability (with not less than 40% permanent disability) may be exempted from the Typing Skill Test. These candidates must upload a scanned copy of the Typing Skill Test Exemption Certificate issued by the Competent Medical Board on the respective RRB’s website before the typing skill test.
  • Merit will be determined only for candidates who have qualified in the typing skill test.

RRB NTPC Eligibility Criteria Experience
