NDA Nationality
As per NDA Eligibility Criteria 2024, candidates who are citizens of India are eligible to apply for the NDA & NA 2024 exam. Those who are not Indian Nationals must fulfil the NDA eligibility 2024 for male and female candidates as prescribed in the official notification. An aspirant should be an unmarried male/female and must be:
- a citizen of India, or
- a subject of Nepal, or
- a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and the East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam, intending to settle in India permanently.
NDA Marital Status

- Candidates should not marry until they complete their entire training.
- An aspirant who marries after the date of his application, though successful at this or any subsequent Examination, will be disqualified from the training.
- Aspirants who marry during training shall be discharged and liable to refund all expenses incurred by the Government.
NDA Physical Eligibility

NDA Eligibility Criteria 2024: Medical Standards
Physical and Mental Health Criteria:
- Aspirants must be in good physical and mental health, free from any disease or disability.
Major Defects for Rejection:
- Weak constitution, imperfect development, congenital malformation, muscular wasting, malformation of the head, etc., are grounds for rejection.
Medical Board Procedures:
- Aspirants declared unfit by the Appeal Medical Board (AMB) have the right to request a Review Medical Board (RMB) within one day of the conclusion of the AMB.
Female Examination Protocol:
- Female aspirants will undergo examination by female medical officers and specialists.
Correction of Minor Defects:
- Aspirants are advised to correct minor defects or ailments to expedite the finalization of the medical examination, which is conducted at the Military Hospital after being recommended at the SSB.
Tattoo Regulations:
- Permanent body tattoos are permitted only on the inner face of the forearm (from the inside of the elbow to the wrist) and on the reverse side of the palm/back (dorsal) side of the hand.
- Tattoos on any other part of the body are not acceptable and will result in disqualification from further recruitment.
- Exceptions may be made for tribes with tattoo marks on the face or body as per their existing customs and traditions, evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
- Skin Health Standards:
- No hyper or hypopigmentation or any other disease/syndrome/disability of the skin is permitted.
Hernia and Blood Pressure Criteria:
- No hernia anywhere on the body is allowed.
- Blood pressure consistently greater than 140/90mm Hg will result in rejection.
