Candidates preparing for the CA Foundation Exam in June 2024 are advised to verify their eligibility status through the Self Service Portal (SSP) on the official website of ICAI. It is essential to ensure that all eligibility criteria are met before applying for the CA Foundation Exam 2024. To apply for the CA Foundation exam, candidates must have a valid course registration. If the registration has expired, candidates must renew or revalidate it through the SSP. Before registering for the CA Foundation exam in 2024, it is crucial to confirm that all eligibility requirements outlined by the ICAI are met. Provisions under CA regulations, particularly sections 25E, 25F, and 28F, allow Class 10 candidates to enroll through a provisional route. Understanding and fulfilling these criteria is essential for a smooth registration process.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Candidates who have successfully completed their Class 10 exams from a state or central government board, or an equivalent exam, are eligible to apply for the CA Foundation exam. However, admission will initially be provisional and will be confirmed after clearing the Class 12 exams.
  • Students currently in Class 12 or who have already completed the exams are eligible to register for the CA Foundation exam.
  • Candidates who have obtained a minimum of 50 percent marks in Class 12 are also eligible to register for the CA Foundation exam.

Age Limit:

  • There is no age limit specified by the ICAI for candidates applying for the CA Foundation exam 2024. Candidates of any age can apply provided they meet all other eligibility criteria.

Registration Deadlines:

  • To qualify for the May/July session exam, candidates must complete their registration by January 1, 2024.
  • For those planning to take the November/December 2024 exams, the deadline for registration is July 1, 2024.
  • Candidates must register with the Board of Studies (BoS) to participate in the exams.

Exemptions:

  • Certain categories of candidates are exempted from appearing in the CA Foundation exam and are allowed to directly enter the CA Intermediate course.
    • UG and PG Candidates: Those who have scored an aggregate of 55% marks in a graduation or post-graduation degree in the commerce stream from any recognized university.
    • NIOS Candidates: Candidates who have completed undergraduate or postgraduate courses from an open university.
    • Non-commerce Candidates: Individuals with Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees in a stream other than commerce from a recognized University and have secured a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate.

Eligibility Equivalence:

  • Candidates must pass the 10+2 exam from a recognized board to apply for the CA Foundation exam 2024. Recognized boards accepted by ICAI include:
    • Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh
    • Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)
    • Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE)
    • Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education
    • Tamil Nadu State Board of School Examinations
    • And others as listed by the government of India and accepted by ICAI.
