Post Description : The Bihar Judicial Exam is conducted annually by the Bihar Public Service Commission. The official notification is expected to be released soon on its official website, i.e., bpsc.bih.nic.in. The Bihar Public Service Commission conducts the exam based on candidates’ knowledge of the law, legal reasoning and judgment, and legal writing skills. The exam is divided into three stages, prelims, mains, and interview rounds. The preliminary exam is a qualifying stage whereas the marks scored in both mains and interviews are combined for the preparation of the merit list.

Bihar Judiciary Mains Exam Pattern 2024

The Bihar Judiciary Mains exam includes 5 mandatory papers and 3 optional papers. The compulsory papers include general knowledge, 2 language based papers, general science, and 1 paper on law. Among the compulsory papers, English Language and Hindi Language papers are qualifying subjects. To qualify for the interview rounds candidates have to secure at least 35% marks in these two subjects. For the mains, candidates must be well-read with the fundamentals of law and its application.

  • The Bihar Judiciary Mains exam is a descriptive paper having questions on general knowledge, law topics, current affairs, general science, and language knowledge.
  • There will be a total of 5 compulsory papers and 3 optional papers.
  • The mains paper is calculated out of 1050 marks.
  • Each section is allotted its marks with no negative marking as such.
  • Candidates have to qualify the language-based subjects, i.e., English Language and Hindi Language with a minimum of 35% marks.
  • The Bihar PCS J Mains exam marks range from 900 to 1000.
  • The final marks of the mains exam combined with interview marks are considered for the final selection for the post of Bihar Civil Judge.
