The preliminary examination for the UKPSC PCS consists of objective-type questions with a negative marking system. For each incorrect answer or if multiple answers are given to the same question, a deduction of one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be made. The merit list is based on the marks obtained in the first question paper (General Studies), while Paper II (General Intelligence Test) serves as a qualifying examination where all candidates, regardless of category or subcategory, must achieve a minimum of 33 percent marks.

  • The four questions (1.5 marks each) based on language/grammar may cover the following areas:
