IFSCA Grade A Exam Pattern 2024
IFSCA Grade A Recruitment will be conducted in the following 3 phases-
- Phase 1: Online Exam (Preliminary)
- Phase 2: Online Exam (Mains)
- Phase 3: Interview

IFSCA Grade A Exam Pattern 2024 – Prelims

- Negative marking: There is a negative marking of 1/4th of the marks assigned to each question in both Paper 1 and Paper 2 of Phase I.
- Cut-off for Paper 1: A minimum of 30% cut-off is required for Paper 1 in Phase I. There is no sectional cut-off for Paper 1.
- Cut-off for Paper 2: A minimum of 40% cut-off is required for Paper 2 in Phase I.
- Aggregate cut-off: Candidates need to secure a separate cut-off in each paper as mentioned above, as well as an aggregate cut-off of 40% in the Phase I exam to be shortlisted for Phase II.
- Utilization of Phase I marks: Marks obtained in Phase I will only be used for shortlisting candidates for the Phase II examination process and will not be considered for the final selection of candidates.
- Shortlisting for Phase II: Subject to the criteria mentioned above, all candidates who clear Phase I will be shortlisted for Phase II. The list of shortlisted candidates for Phase II will be published on the IFSCA website.
IFSCA Grade A Exam Pattern 2024 – Mains

- New Hall Tickets: Candidates shortlisted for Phase II will be issued new Hall Tickets for the examination.
- Negative marking: There is a negative marking of 1/4th of the marks assigned to each question in Paper 2 of Phase II.
- Cut-off for Paper 1 and Paper 2: A minimum of 30% cut-off is required for Paper 1, and a minimum of 40% cut-off is required for Paper 2 in Phase II.
- Aggregate cut-off: Candidates need to secure separate cut-offs in each paper as mentioned above and an aggregate cut-off of 40% in the Phase II exam. The weightage is 1/3rd for Paper 1 and 2/3rd for Paper 2.
- Shortlisting for Phase III: Subject to the criteria mentioned above, candidates equaling 3 times the number of vacancies shall be shortlisted for Phase III, which is the Interview round. The shortlisted candidates will be in order of merit. A list of candidates shortlisted for Interviews will be published on the IFSCA website.
IFSCA Grade A Interview 2024
- Interview for IFSCA Grade A:
- Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview.
- Application fee will not be refunded to candidates not shortlisted for Phase II and Interview.
- Weightage of marks:
- Marks obtained in Phase II: 85%
- Marks obtained in the interview: 15%

IFSCA Grade A Syllabus 2024 – Phase 2
Phase 2 will be descriptive as well as objective tests. Paper 1 will be descriptive in nature. Candidates will have to attempt essays, comprehension, and precis. In Paper 2, multiple choice questions will be asked from the topics below.
