AILET LLM Syllabus 2024
The university has made significant changes to the AILET LLM syllabus. Previously, it included sections on English, Legal reasoning, and two descriptive-type questions on law subjects. However, this year, the format has changed to only 100 objective-type questions with no descriptive ones. Additionally, there is no separate section for the English language. The AILET logical reasoning syllabus indicates a total of 70 questions in this section. Under the new AILET LLM syllabus for 2024, all questions will cover different branches of Law, similar to what students typically study during LLB degree courses. This brings the AILET entrance exam syllabus closer to the CLAT LLM syllabus. Each question carries one mark, making the maximum marks in AILET LLM now 100 instead of 150 in the old pattern.

Do CLAT and AILET have the same syllabus?
Yes, CLAT and AILET are a bit different in what they ask you to study. The CLAT test for undergraduates has more parts, like a section on using numbers, which AILET doesn’t have. CLAT has five parts, including one about using numbers, but AILET only has three parts, and it doesn’t include anything about numbers or math. When it comes to the postgraduate (PG) exams for both tests, the things you need to know are mostly the same, but there are some differences in how many questions you get and how much time you have. The big difference between AILET and CLAT is that AILET doesn’t test you on using numbers or math, while CLAT does.
Is Maths removed from AILET?
No, math hasn’t been taken out of AILET (All India Law Entrance Test). The exam has 150 questions, and 10 of them are about Elementary Mathematics or Numerical Ability. Even though the Mathematics and Legal Aptitude sections were removed from AILET starting in 2022, the AILET 2024 syllabus still has a part about Elementary Mathematics. So, candidates still need to get ready for the Elementary Mathematics section as part of the exam.
How to prepare for AILET 2024?
The AILET exam conducted by NLU Delhi is known to be one of the toughest competitive exams. Therefore, candidates preparing for AILET 2024 should approach their studies systematically. To do well in the exam, it’s crucial to check the subjects included and the exam format thoroughly. Creating a daily study timetable dedicated to AILET preparation and sticking to it is a helpful strategy. Regularly reading newspapers such as ‘The Hindu,’ ‘Times of India,’ and ‘The Indian Express’ is beneficial. Additionally, candidates are recommended to explore AILET 2024 preparation books related to the respective programs (BA LLB, LLM) for comprehensive study.
