Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) operate under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. Affiliated with the CBSE Board, these schools are overseen by the autonomous body known as Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS).
NVS is dedicated to providing education to talented children hailing from rural areas across the country. Admissions to classes VI and IX are granted through an entrance test called the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST), conducted annually. The test attracts participation from lakhs of candidates who fill out applications and sit for the examination. To qualify for the test, students must achieve scores above the specified cut-off criteria.
Cut-off marks represent the minimum scores required for a candidate to pass a particular examination. Achieving marks beyond the cut-off indicates successful clearance of the exam, while falling below it implies non-qualification.
