CGPDTM Patent Examiner City Intimation Link has been released for the Mains Exam. The Mains Examination (Paper I and Paper II) of the qualified candidates will be conducted on 25th January 2024. The Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks (CGPDTM) had announced a total of 553 vacancies for the Patent Examiner post in various disciplines like Physics, Electronics & Communication, Food Technology, and others. Candidates who get qualified in the prelims are eligible to attend the mains. The result is expected to be released in the first week of January 2024. Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks has released the notification for the Patent Examiner. A total of 553 vacancies were released.
- The selection of candidates for the said post will be based on Prelims Exam, Mains Exam, and Interview.
- The salary of candidates appointed as CGPDTM Patent Examiners will be as per Pay Matrix Level 10 in Pay Matrix (₹ 56,100 – 1,77,500).

CGPDTM Patent Examiner Selection Process
The selection process for the posts of Examiner of Patents and Designs will consist of three phases as follows:
- Preliminary Examination: 150 marks.
- Mains Examination: 400 marks.
- Interview: 100 marks
The final merit list of qualified candidates will be prepared by giving 80% weightage to the cumulative marks obtained in Paper-I and Paper-II of the mains examination and 20% weightage to the marks obtained in the interview.

The candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not be over 35 years of age as on the last date of submission of the online application. The upper age limit is relaxable for reserved categories as follows:

The mains exam is a written examination that consists of two papers: Paper-I (OMR Based) and Paper-II (Descriptive answer).

The selected candidates for the posts of Examiner of Patents and Designs under CGPDTM will be appointed in Level 10 in Pay Matrix (₹ 56,100 – 1,77,500) plus applicable allowances, as admissible, in the Government of India. They will also be entitled to other benefits such as leave, medical facilities, gratuity, contributory provident fund, group insurance etc. as per rules.
