To participate in the RBI Grade B Exam, all candidates must first understand the RBI Grade B Exam Pattern, which is covered in depth below for Prelims and Mains.

RBI Grade B Prelims Exam Pattern

  • The preliminary exam for RBI Grade B Officer 2024 is conducted online and consists of four sections.
  • The exam carries a total of 200 marks, and candidates have 120 minutes to complete it.
  • Each section will have its allotted time, which will be mentioned in the information handout released along with the admit card.
  • Candidates must score minimum marks in each section and also achieve a certain overall aggregate score.
  • For every wrong answer, there will be a deduction of 1/4th mark as a negative marking.

RBI Grade B Phase 2 Exam Pattern for DR (General)

  • The RBI Grade B Mains exam is worth a total of 300 marks.
  • The Mains (Phase-II) exam for RBI Grade B Officers in Gr B (DR)- General consists of three papers, namely Paper-I, Paper-II, and Paper-III.
  • Candidates must appear for all shifts of the Mains examination.
  • Separate Admission Letters will be issued for each shift, indicating the schedule and details.
  • Only the candidates who qualify in Phase-I and meet the cutoff set by the Board will be eligible to take the Phase II online examination.
  • The Phase-II examination will be conducted in shifts, and candidates must appear for all the scheduled shifts.

In Paper I and III of the RBI Grade B Mains exam, there will be a total of 30 objective questions carrying 50 marks. Some questions may have 2 marks each, while others have 1 mark each.

For the Descriptive questions, 6 questions will be given, out of which candidates need to answer 4 questions. Two questions will carry 15 marks each, and the other two will carry 10 marks each, with varying difficulty levels.

If a candidate attempts more than 4 questions in the Descriptive section, only the first 4 answers will be evaluated.

RBI Grade B Interview Syllabus 2024

  • In addition to the preliminary and mains exams, there will be an interview for candidates who qualify for the RBI Grade B Officer Exam.
  • The interview carries 75 marks, and candidates are shortlisted based on their aggregate marks in Phase II (Paper-I + Paper-II + Paper-III). The cutoff for interview shortlisting is decided by the Board according to the number of vacancies.
  • Roll numbers of shortlisted candidates will be published on the RBI website, and interview call letters will be sent via email. Candidates can choose to give the interview in either Hindi or English.
  • The final selection is based on a merit list prepared by combining marks from the Phase-II exam and the interview.
