IPS is a Group ‘A’ All India Service that is primarily responsible for law and order and maintaining security in the country. The stage of IPS Exam 2024 is all set to be held on 16 June 2024.

IPS Exam 2024 Highlights

The UPSC IPS Recruitment Exam 2024 will commence with the Prelims stage. Those who clear the first stage will be shortlisted for the Mains. Finally, a cut-off will be announced, and selected candidates need to pass the last stage, i.e., the personality test. Once candidates are recommended for IPS, they are sent for training at the National Police Academy, Hyderabad.

IPS Exam Date 2024

The IPS Exam Date 2024 has been announced, according to which the IPS Prelims will be a one-day exam on 16 June, and IPS Mains will last 7 days starting on 20 September 2024. In addition, the IPS Exam 2025 dates are also released: May 25, 2025, for Prelims and August 22, 2025, for Mains respectively.

IPS Exam Application Process

The IPS officers play a vital role in ensuring law and order, safeguarding national security, and upholding the rule of law in India. To apply for such a reputed position, candidates must register first when applications are ongoing and then clear the IPS exam. Here is the procedure to apply for the UPSC IPS examination:

Step 1: Visit UPSC’s official website at upsc.gov.in.

Step 2: Navigate to the “Examination” tab on the home page of the website and select “Active Examinations.”

Step 3: Choose “UPSC Civil Services Examination” from the list.

Step 4: Click on the ‘apply’ link to initiate the IPS application process.

Step 5: Complete the form accurately, upload the required documents, pay the fee, and submit the form after reviewing.

IPS Application Fee 2024

The application fee for IPS prelims and mains exams is slightly different. The IPS application fee can be submitted either online by using a debit/credit/Rupay card or SBI Net Banking or offline. To submit the application fee for the IPS exam offline, make a cash payment at an SBI branch and submit a pay slip to UPSC.

IPS Exam Eligibility Criteria 2024

IPS Exam Pattern 2024

The IPS Exam Pattern for 2024 follows a three-stage process. It begins with the prelims, consisting of two papers: GS Paper I and GS Paper II, known as CSAT. IPS Salary 2024

After selected candidates are appointed as officers in the Indian Police Service, they must complete their training at the NPA.
