About Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC)

The Jharkhand Academic Council (‘JAC’) was established based on the Law passed by the State Legislature in 2003. It was appointed by the Chief Minister in the same year. The purpose of the JAC is to organise and conduct the annual JAC Class 10 and Class 12 examinations in the fields of Intermediate Education, Secondary Education, Sanskrit Education, and Madrasa Education. The JAC also prescribes courses of study in these examinations. The JAC recommends that the State Government recognizes the Intermediate Educational Institutions, High Schools, Sanskrit Schools, and Madrasas. The JAC is also responsible for carrying out any other duties that the State Government may assign to it regularly. Currently, JAC is following the model of the CBSE board to improve the education standard in the State by consolidating Secondary, Intermediate Sanskrit (Madhyama), and Madrasa education all under one roof.
